Some changes coming to the college SAT entrance exam that could give preference to students from certain social and economic backgrounds. Fifteen factors will soon be calculated including the crime rate to come up with an ‘adversity’ score for each student.
Another consideration to be added: The poverty level from the students high school and neighborhood. According to the Wall Street Journal, only colleges, not students, will see the adversity score when applications are reviewed.
